Rice to Chelsea This Window ?
A friend of mine works for Chelsea in their legal department on the contractual side of things and we had an interesting conversation on the phone yesterday.

Apparently the Broja situation is that the Chelsea coaching team aren't 100% convinced about him and want to have a close look at him on their US tour, but of course he got injured. Broja, supposedly, is happy to stay at Chelsea but ONLY if he sees himself as part of the first team squad.

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Chelsea came to us with a players plus cash offer for Declan Rice. particularly if our search for a striker hasn't yielded any results.

Just a thought ? If it happens Conor Gallagher is one of their players I wouldn't turn my nose up at.

Literally every sentient being on this planet looks to get stuff at below asking price. Should we put up for sale, say, Masuaku at an asking price of seventy-eleven squillion gazillion pounds and refuse to consider the offer of a stale cheese sarnie and an old bus ticket with a seven in the number? Even though that offer is clearly way over-generous.

I got the same impression as he left the field and straight down the tunnel against Rangers

Totally agree the ambition being shown by our club is so negative I wouldn't blame any off our players that put in a transfer request !
Where's Kretinsky ???

Oh it's an absolute no-brainer that the Daves' main plan is to sell Rice, sell up and trouser the cash. The only thing standing in the way is our outrage.

I'm not convinced Chelsea are preparing a deal but I wouldn't blame Rice if he was ready for a move. He must look at how that dwarf cunt is running the club and realise it can only decline from here. As long as they're in charge, nothing changes. Two seasons in a row they put the brakes on a push for CL, and this summer they're (GSB) doing their best to push the best player out the door

Nice try Geoff, but your attempt at getting a rumour going on the internet is flawed and really poor.

You claim your friend works on the "contractual side". What "contractual" stuff has happened here that would involve your friend? The coaching staff want to look at Broja and might fancy Rice? I have a minor understanding of the workings of a PL Club and at least at WH the coaching staff don't consult the legal department for their thoughts on players. Perhaps that's the difference.

Also I'm unsure why your mate didn't tell you that Gallagher also very much sees himself in the Chelsea first team.

Rice will go. Most likely next Summer, quite possibly to Chelsea. I think Rice has made it very clear to all that he's going nowhere now, that's why there isn't endless media speculation about where he's going. But this is nonsense.

Re: Rice to Chelsea This Window ?
I have to say that if I was Rice i wouldn't stay at West Ham. Our owners are toxic. They talk great deals for big name players but always look to pay less than the asking price.

I see Sassuolo want £42m for Scamacca but we've increased our offer to £34m. Probably on 5 year terms too.

Now one can argue that this is sound economics at work here but that isn't how football works for the top players as has been shown over the last few windows.

Our transfer policies fail fail and fail. Downes was a cheap addition to the squad and done and dealt with in no time and no noise. That's our paymaster's level. We've brought in an expert at identifying players and Moyes reputation for dithering helps GSBK.

Sullivan controls everything by not offering acceptable sums then blaming the selling club for not responding or ignoring the offers. It's known as politeness rather than saying "Fuck Off"

How long will Moyes and Newman stick around as fall guys?

Yeh i'm sure the coaching staff always make time to go and find the legal team and share their thoughts on the progress of players and the transfer situations.

Unbelievable Geoff.

Re: Rice to Chelsea This Window ?
I’m not sure how much Chelsea actually want Rice, surely they’d have put a bid in by now. Could mainly be social media that builds it up.

We’ll probably get Broja on loan or with a buy back option and get our pants pulled down as usual.
